What is TTEAM?

TTEAM is a teaching method for horses that incorporates body work (TTOUCH), ground exercises and riding exercises to help improve co-ordination, balance and athletic ability. In the process it deepens communication and understanding between the horse and its owner/carer.

  • The Tellington TTouch helps to relieve tension, fear of contact, soreness or discomfort and transforms nervous, spooky or resistant horses and improves attitude and behavior. With TTouch your horse will enjoy learning and cooperate willingly. TTouch has been used extensively to speed healing and recovery from injury and illness.
  • Ground Exercises enable a horse to override old patterns and to learn without fear or force. Using a variety of obstacles including labyrinth, ground poles and plastic, TTEAM exercises result in self-control, focus, self-confidence, cooperation, balance and coordination.
  • The Joy Of Riding uses several unique tools like the Balance Rein, the Neckring and the TTEAM Training rollerbit to encourage the well-being of the horse under saddle. Riding with awareness increases the comfort, performance and confidence of horse and rider.

How can it help your horse?

  • TTEAM helps increase levels of self confidence and self-control.
  • TTEAM techniques gently guide the horse through non-habitual exercises that can alter existing habitual patterns.
  • TTEAM techniques improve your horse’s posture, which in turn affect behaviour. Unwanted behaviour diminishes as the horse's posture improves.
  • TTEAM teaches the horse to act, rather than simply react.

TTEAM has been used successfully with:

  • sore backs
  • stiffness
  • stress
  • nervousness or tension
  • inconsistent performance
  • lameness or unevenness of stride
  • cinchiness
  • resistance to the vet and farrier
  •  bucking and rearing
  •  clipping, pulling manes, giving shots
  • head tossing and tail wringing
  • biting
  • kicking
  • pulling back when tied
  • trailering
  • resistance to grooming or saddling
  • stubbornness or laziness
